SentioraFiles

The PDF somebody sent you, the scan you cannot copy a word from, the form that has to go back signed. Sentiora Files opens, edits, redacts, signs, converts and reads documents on your own computer, with no account and no upload. The assistant is the one part that can reach the internet — and only after you give it a key of your own.

Version 1.5.6 / 15 workspaces / 14 languages / Windows
Reader, dark themeA two-page service agreement, read on the page as it prints.

A week of paperwork, done on your own machine.

Screens from Sentiora Files 1.5.6, worked through with sample documents — a service agreement, an invoice, a scanned letter — between two firms that do not exist. Every figure on them is the application’s own, and the assistant is running offline, with no key.

For the questions the tour does not answer.

Every workspace, with the details that decide a purchase: what stays free after the trial, which conversions need LibreOffice, and exactly when a document’s text leaves the computer.

01READOpen, search and annotateFree after the trial
  • Continuous scroll with thumbnails, jump to page, and an outline built from the document's own bookmarks. Pages are drawn as you reach them, so a thousand-page file opens at once and does not fill the memory
  • Zoom with the buttons or Ctrl+wheel, fit-to-width and whole-page. On a 4K screen the text is drawn at the screen's resolution, not enlarged from a small picture
  • Select text with the mouse and copy it (Ctrl+C); double-click takes a word; links in the document work, to another page or out to the web
  • The reader does not rotate and has no two-page mode — rotation is in Page work, below
  • Search the whole document with or without capitals, and a count of the matches
  • Annotate with text, pen and highlighter, in any colour
  • What you draw saves to a new PDF — the file you opened is never modified. Reading stays free after the trial; saving the marked-up copy needs a licence
  • Password-protected PDFs open throughout, once you have typed the password
02WRITEA word processor that exports PDF
  • Bold, italic, underline, strike-through, subscript and superscript, text and highlight colours, alignment, lists, indentation and line spacing
  • Find and replace, including replace-all, with a live count of words and characters
  • Opens TXT, HTML and DOCX; saves PDF, DOCX, HTML and TXT
  • Undo and redo cover every step, not only the last one
03PAGE WORKThe page grid is a working copy
  • Reorder by dragging, rotate 90 or 180, delete, extract into a new PDF
  • Split into separate files, lock with an AES-256 password or take one off
  • Compress on three steps — quick, lossless, structure only; balanced, pictures and scans down to 150 DPI; maximum, 100 DPI with scanned text at one bit. It then says how much came off and how many images it re-coded: on a 1.4 MB scan, maximum took off 68%
  • Nothing is written until you save, and one button brings the file back as it was
  • Several files chosen at once go straight to Merge Studio
04INSPECTWhat a file really isReads only
  • Size, page count, PDF version, encryption, whether it is optimised for the web, the first page's dimensions
  • Title, author, subject, keywords, producer and dates — and you can correct the first four
  • The report copies or saves, which is what you send when a PDF is refused somewhere and nobody says why
05MERGEAny number of files, one order
  • Add PDFs and images, drag them into order, drop the pages you do not need
  • Rotate what came in crooked before it is merged, not after
  • Undo and redo across the whole assembly
06REDACTRemoved, not covered
  • Type the names, numbers or addresses to remove, one per line, and they leave the file
  • Not a black rectangle over text somebody can select underneath — matched pages become images with the words blacked out, so there is nothing left to select
  • The word is taken out of every place a PDF keeps it: notes and comments, form field values, bookmarks, properties and metadata. Attachments are left out — and said to be left out — because they cannot be searched
  • Find matches tells you everything it is about to do, before it does it
  • A scanned page has no text to find, and Sentiora Files warns you instead of passing it off as clean
  • The redacted copy is not encrypted, and the application says so before it saves
07SIGN & FORMSSignature and fillable fields
  • Sign by typing your name, drawing with the mouse, or bringing a picture; choose the page, a corner or the middle, three sizes, and today's date if you tick it
  • Open a PDF with form fields, fill it in, save it
  • One tick locks the fields, radio-button groups included, so nobody changes them after you
  • Letters with diacritics survive: ăâîșț stay ăâîșț, drawn with the application's own font, in any reader
  • A password-protected form asks for the password and says plainly that the filled copy will no longer be protected
08CONVERTFormats in and out — and it says which work here
  • With nothing else installed, into PDF: Word (docx), text, Markdown, HTML, and photos — JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, BMP, GIF, HEIC. Photos of any kind go together into one PDF; documents convert one type per batch
  • With nothing else installed, out of PDF: Word (docx), JPEG, PNG, TIFF and WebP
  • With LibreOffice or Pandoc installed, more appears — EPUB, RTF and conversions between text formats
  • The menu shows only what works on your computer, and says in one line what it does not offer and why — it does not offer a format and then fail on it
  • A PDF back into Word keeps the headings, type sizes, tables, pictures and columns in reading order, and leaves the repeated header and footer out
09OCRText out of scans and photographs
  • Twelve languages included — English, Romanian, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Hungarian, Turkish, Russian — several at once for mixed documents, with diacritics
  • Take the text as it is, or make a searchable PDF: the scan stays exactly as it looks and the text underneath can be selected and found
  • Fast mode for a quicker, rougher read
  • The OCR engine is installed once, separately — Tesseract, which is free. If it is missing, the application shows where to get it
10BATCHThe same operation over a folder
  • Compression at quick, balanced or maximum, a watermark, or page numbers, across every PDF in a folder
  • The originals are never modified; results go to the folder you choose
  • Progress names the current file; stopping halfway does not spoil what already finished
  • A log you can save, saying which file failed and why — not a count of failures
11ASSISTANTStarts offline. Reaches further only if you say so.Uses your key, and the internet
  • A summary — short, detailed, in points or by chapter — a suggested title, what kind of document it is, and questions about what you loaded, with the conversation kept
  • It works on first launch with no key, no account and no internet, with the engine built in. The offline summary is simple; good summaries need a model connected
  • For stronger answers you connect your own key: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Mistral, Groq, DeepSeek — or a model running on your own machine through LM Studio or Ollama
  • The key is encrypted on your computer and travels to the one provider you picked. An indicator always shows who is answering
  • The document reaches the model whole, page by page: a long one is summarised in parts, and a question is answered from the pages that share the most words with it
  • The answer names the page — (p. 4) — and underneath says what the model actually saw: the document has 200 pages; the model saw pages 1, 2, 4, 6. Nothing is cut in silence
  • Those tokens are billed to you by the provider, not by us. Answers copy, save to a file, or clear together with the conversation
12SMART PDFText and pictures in, a laid-out document out
  • Six templates — Modern, Classic, Minimal, Business, Photo album, Letter — with a preview before anything is written
  • PDFs, text, Word, HTML, photos or pasted notes, turned into one document with a title page and styled sections
  • Pictures are placed, not pasted at the end
13EVERY PAGEWhat holds across the whole application
  • Languages — 14 — English, Romanian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Hindi, Bengali, Japanese, Korean, Arabic
  • Themes — Light and dark, switched in place with Ctrl+T
  • Icons — 5 to choose from in Settings — the desktop shortcut changes with it
  • Problem report — Collects the version, the Windows build and the log by itself, and opens your email with the message already written
  • Drag and drop — On every page, into the place where it makes sense
  • One window — A second file opened from Explorer goes into the window already running
  • No freezing — Every long operation runs on its own thread; the window keeps answering

What it does not do.

Written here rather than discovered after you have paid.

01YOUR FILESDocuments do not leave your computer
  • Not to us, not to anyone else
  • With a licence active, once a day the program reports that this copy is in use: a scrambled form of the key and of the computer, and the version number — never your email, your name or your documents
  • The exception is the assistant, and only when you have connected a model. Then the text you ask about goes to the provider you chose — that is what a key is for, and it is off until you turn it on
02EDITING PDF TEXTIt does not rewrite a paragraph in place
  • Rotate, delete, extract, merge, redact and annotate — yes
  • Click into an existing sentence and retype it, the way a professional PDF editor does — no
03SIGNATURESNot a certified digital signature
  • The signature is a visible one, placed on the page
  • It is not the legally recognised kind backed by a certificate
04PERMISSION TO RUNIt never asks anyone whether it may start
  • The licence is checked on your machine, against a key built into the program
  • With no internet it starts exactly as fast

Reading stays free, always.

The trial runs for fourteen days, with everything open, and asks for no card and no account. When it ends, opening, viewing, searching and inspecting keep working — saving, exporting and the rest need a licence, which costs $39 once — $69 for all three Sentiora tools. Nobody is locked out of documents they have already made.

You are sent a key and nothing else — no address to type, no account to make. It is checked on your own computer against an Ed25519 signature built into the program, so it works with the network cable out. Once a day, with a licence active, Sentiora Files reads the list of stopped licences and reports that this copy is in use; the rule the whole thing is built on is that a licence can only be taken away, never given — no answer, no internet, and the program carries on exactly as before.
