Reading, editing, redaction, signing, conversion and OCR all run on your own machine. The assistant is the one part that can reach further, and only through a provider and a key you choose yourself — it is off until you set it up.
01 / READ
Open, search and annotate
Continuous scroll with zoom, jump to any page, search with match-case and a running count, and an outline panel when the document has bookmarks. Annotate with pen, highlight and text, then save a flattened copy — the original is never touched. Inspect shows what a file really is — pages, PDF version, encryption, producer, dates — and lets you correct the title and author. Password-protected PDFs open throughout.
02 / EDIT PAGES
The grid is a working copy
Reorder by dragging, rotate, delete, split, extract, compress at three levels, encrypt with AES-256 or remove a password. Nothing is written until you save, undo and redo cover every step, and documents of ten thousand pages load lazily instead of freezing. Merge Studio does the same across files — pages from any number of PDFs and images, shuffled into one order — and Batch runs compression, watermarks or page numbers over an entire folder, reporting which files succeeded and which did not.
03 / REDACT
Removed, not covered
Type the names, numbers or addresses to remove and the matching pages are rasterised with the words painted out. The text is gone from the file — not hidden under a rectangle somebody can select and copy. It works correctly on rotated pages.
04 / OCR
Twelve languages, nothing to download
Pull text out of scans and images in English, Romanian, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Hungarian, Turkish and Russian — several at once for mixed documents. Save the text, or produce a searchable PDF with an invisible text layer over the scan.
05 / WRITE & CONVERT
A word processor, a builder and a converter
Write on an A4 sheet with full formatting, find and replace, and a live word count; open TXT, HTML and DOCX, save PDF, DOCX, HTML and TXT. Hand Smart PDF some text and pictures and it composes a tidy document from six real templates — Modern, Classic, Minimal, Business, Photo album and Letter. Convert images to PDF and back, or Office, HTML and Markdown into PDF. Fill and lock PDF forms, and sign with typed, drawn or imported signatures.
06 / ASSIST
An assistant that starts offline
Summarise, suggest a title, classify, or ask questions about the loaded document. It answers from local heuristics on first launch, with no account and no key. If you want a stronger model you can connect your own: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Mistral, Groq, DeepSeek, or a local server. An indicator always shows which one is answering.

The trial runs for fourteen days and asks for no card and no account. When it ends, opening, viewing, searching and inspecting keep working — only the operations that write a file need a licence. Activation is an email address and a key, checked offline with an Ed25519 signature, and the same key works on every computer you own.
